Re: Snowboarding Loser 11/06/05
First, read my post from November 6th of last year.
We went snowboarding out at Lake Louise for the weekend. It was my first time this season, and I didn't go much after I wrote that post last November. I don't think my duck is any less drunk. Even after 4 hours of lessons. What is wrong with me? I really do want to be able to ride down the mountain without falling on my ass 27 times. I have bruises covering probably 90% of my body! I did have fun, even with the falling. I laughed a lot and learned a little.

Days of our Lives
I hate the show Days of our Lives. It's corny and just plain silly. The actors aren't very convincing, and neither are the characters. The story lines are either predictable or ridiculous.
I watch it every day. I have been watching it for almost 20 years. I can't resist it.
What is wrong with me? I think I need professional help.

Back on the Blogging Bandwagon
HI!!! Miss me?
Marlow and I are going to Orlando! Well, Marlow is going - I am tagging along. She is going for business; a trade show. I am going for fun; Disneyworld! I am planning to hang around the resort - swimming in the pool and relaxing in the sun! I am hoping to meet Toni down there to celebrate her birthday and spend some time at Disneyworld! I can't believe this will be my fourth trip this year! I guess I am a little spoiled this year. I'm enjoying being a world traveler!!

Poor Piper
Piper finally made the big trip to the vet to be spayed. She seems to be recovering quite well, but I still feel bad for her. Machismo chases her around, biting her tail, so she doesn't get all that much rest! Funny thing - she didn't come home with a cone on her head. The vet told Dean that she wouldn't need one. Because of the way she is shaped, and the fact that her face is so flat and her neck so short, she can't reach the incision to lick it! Funny Pug!

No Time
We have been home for some time now. And, I haven't updated my blog. Dean thinks this is unacceptable. Let me tell you all why I haven't posted at all.
Dean is home.
Now, I am sure you are either thinking: Aww.. That's sweet - OR - Ahh.. That's a lame excuse. But, I assure you, it is neither sweet nor an excuse.
He doesn't let me on the damn computer!!!!!!!!!

Heathrow to Home
Our "Eurotrip" is coming to an end. We're at the airport in London; our flight leaves in about 3 hours. I am happy to be on my way home - I MISS MY PETS - but also a little sad that the trip is over. It seemed to fly by. We saw and did so much in two weeks it is unbelievable! I am looking forward to showing off our pictures, and I am sorry to tell you all that you will be forced to listen to my stories for some time. You have been warned. See you soon!

Well, we are now in Paris. It was a long drive from Switzerland, but we made it. Tonight we will see Paris in all its glory from atop the Eiffel Tower! I cannot wait to take a million photos! I cant say much more because this keyboard is driving me crazy! It is not the qwerty type!!!!! See you all soon!

St. Goar, Germany
Made it to Germany!
We had a great time in Amsterdam. The red light district is insane! Dean wouldn't let me eat any brownies 'Amsterdam' style! Probably a good thing!
We are having a 3 course German dinner tonight, and then off to a wine tasting. Tomorrow we head to Munich. We get to drink beer in "the biggest beer hole in the world". Should be fun!

Amsterdam
I made to London where Dean met me at the Airport. It was overcast and a little rainy, but still AWESOME! Didn't have much time there, but will have more at the end. We made our it to our Tour Coach on time at 6:45 am (as most of you know, that is a big accomplishment for me). We took the ferry in Dover over to France. Not much of a stop there, but we do make our way back there for a couple days. We are just checking into our hotel in Amsterdam now, and tonight we go on a Canal Tour!!! And, of course, we will be checking out a 'special' show tonight!!! I will post again soon!

Europe Here I Come
I leave today to meet Dean in London. From there we head out on a 14 day Contiki tour of 7 different countries! I cannot wait to get there! I am so excited to see Europe, but for now even more excited to see my husband. I will try to post when I am there, just because it will be cool to say I am posting from Paris or wherever I get to a computer.

Laryngitis
Laryngitis (LAIR-in-JIE-tis) is an irritation and swelling of the voice box and the area around it. It may cause your voice to change, or you may lose your voice entirely for a short while. The problem is most common in late fall, winter, or early spring. With or without treatment, you should be well in 7 to 14 days.
The classic symptoms are a hoarse, low voice, and a scratchy throat. You also might lose your voice, develop a sore throat, come down with a fever, feel you have a lump in your throat, or feel very tired.
This is for informative purposes only. It is not a ploy for sympathy. Yes it is.

Da Pugs
I'm not sure what I was thinking.
Piper is just over 10 months old. She, for the most part, pees outside. She, for the most part, doesn't chew things she isn't supposed to. She, for the most part, listens to what I tell her to do.
Machismo is just over 11 weeks old. He, for the most part, pees wherever and whenever he feels the need. He, for the most part, chews anything that will fit in his mouth. He, for the most part, doesn't even seem able to hear when I speak to him.
But, he and Piper get along quite well. And, he is so damn cute.
I'm such a sucker.

Piper & Machismo
I've come to realize that I enjoy reading other blogs much more than I enjoy writing my own. Perhaps that is because my blog is Boring. Yes, I mean that with a capital "B".
I have been spending as much time as possible with my puppies and no time blogging.

Nobody Asked
Hey, Beckie - Did you get that 5 pound star you were so hoping for?
Why, thanks for asking, Beckie! Yes I did! I actually weighed in with a 5.2 lbs loss at my last WW meeting. I have lost a total of 7.4 lbs so far. I told you that star would be mine. Next week, I am aiming for the coveted 10 pound star! Oh, the anticipation! Will I be able to lose the required 2.8 lbs in a week?
I had to ask myself. Sheesh.

Losing Battle
I haven't posted in a while. Haven't been in the mood. That's kinda how I am, you know? I get bored very quickly. But, today! Today I have something to say.
I started on the Weight Watchers program a week ago. I truly know that I need to lose some weight. I am to be in a dear friend's wedding party in 54 days, and don't want to be known as the blob in the wedding photos for years to come.
Many of the girls at work have succeeded greatly on this program! They have given me many pointers over the past week, and I have taken them all. I am proud to say that I followed the program perfectly all week, and exercised pretty much every day. So... this morning I go to my WW (Weight Watchers) meeting, actually excited to step on the scale!
BUT... You knew this was coming, right? Would I be writing this if there was not a BUT?
"Good girl, Beckie, you've lost 2.2 lbs!" WHAT? 2.2 lbs?? Holy crap. I'm supposed to be excited about 2.2 pounds lost in a week??? Now, don't get me wrong, I know that weight loss should be gradual and its a lifestyle change and blah blah blah - But at least give me a 5 pound start to keep me motivated! The WW leader actually gives you a gold star for 5 pounds!
I am not giving up. I am determined to lose 3 lbs this week. I want that damn 5 lb star. It will be mine. Oh, yes, it will be mine.
